Our Approach to Insurance
At Therapy.Doctor, we provide medically-informed therapy delivered exclusively by psychiatrists – medical doctors who specialize in mental health. Due to our specialized approach, we currently do not directly accept insurance for our services.
However, we understand this may present challenges for some patients, and we offer two options to help manage the cost of care:
- Out-of-network reimbursement support
- Our financial assistance program
Out-of-Network Reimbursement
Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that can reimburse a portion of your therapy costs. After each session, we can provide:
- A detailed superbill with all necessary medical codes
- Documentation to submit to your insurance company
- Guidance on the reimbursement process
Reimbursement rates vary by insurance provider and plan type. We recommend contacting your insurance company directly to inquire about your specific out-of-network mental health benefits.
Financial Assistance Program
We believe that financial circumstances should not be a barrier to receiving high-quality mental health care. Our financial assistance program offers reduced rates based on demonstrated financial need.
Eligibility Criteria
Financial assistance is available to patients who:
- Have limited or no insurance coverage for mental health services
- Demonstrate financial need based on income and household size
- Complete the required application process
Application Process
To apply for financial assistance:
- Download and complete the Financial Assistance Application Form below
- Gather the required documentation (listed in the application)
- Submit your completed application and documentation via email or during your initial consultation
- Allow 5-7 business days for review and determination
Discount Structure
Based on your financial situation, discounts may range from 10% to 50% off our standard session rates. The exact discount will be determined during the application review process and communicated to you in writing.
Payment Options
We accept the following payment methods:
- Major credit and debit cards
- Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
